Isenberg Reacts: WWE Raw “The Club Turns For The Best”

Tag Teams Spotlighted on Raw

The beginning of WWE Raw featured Stephanie and Shane talking about the brand split, which brings out The New Day. They begin to talk about where they will be and then get interrupted by The Vaudevillians. A match starts with the two teams.

The New Day and the Vaudevillians put on a pretty physical and fun match. That all stopped when Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attack the champions. The hit their finisher on Big E and then cut a promo in the back about putting everyone on notice that they have arrived.

I am in 100% favor of this. I think they need to establish more of just being there for their friends and making sure they have more than one storyline. They can be helpful to Styles and potentially Balor down the road, but they are a tag team that would look really good with gold around their waist. Also, what better heel heat could they get over attacking The New Day? This makes for a very interesting turn in the tag team division. I did not expect it, but really like the direction it is headed.

Speaking of direction, nobody really cares about Golden Truth, Fandango/Breeze and The Uso’s right now. There are talented guys involved here, but there can only be so much goofy comedy that does not translate to a much more mature audience. So, I question why they continue to get important time on WWE television, specifically Raw weekly for the past 6 weeks.

Enzo and Cass picked up a win over The Dudley Boyz and was nice to see Enzo back in the ring. You can tell they are going to slowly put him back into the mix, as most offense came from Cass. The Rocket Launcher helps the boys from Brooklyn pick up the win.

Three segments of tag team action and it seems that WWE really has 3-4 legit teams that could contend for championships right now. That is alright, for now. We always want depth in a division, but how do you make teams relevant? Do you squash other teams or do you have everyone trade wins and losses? At least we didn’t have to deal with a crappy Social Outcasts and New Day segment for two consecutive weeks. Good production here from the fresh faces, with the veterans doing the job and helping them look important.
