He Certainly Is Glorious

Bobby Roode, with an incredible entrance and the 15,000 fans singing his song was certainly one of my favorite moments of the night. He is a superstar and will be one of the best for years to come in NXT and in WWE. The shape Roode is in shows you how serious he is about being one of the best. Andrade Almas held his own tonight. I was very surprised at his actions in the ring, acting slightly cocky and comical. When he was able to reverse some moves, he smirked and actually got the crowd to cheer for him a bit. That is hard to do, considering what and who he had to compete with.

Almas won me over, but the new star in Roode is really what NXT needs. A gimmick that hits from Day One is something hard to do and WWE got that with Roode. The path is clear for him to main event NXT and potentially fast track his way to Raw or Smackdown. I would change his finisher, but a solid ten minute match with an excellent show before and during the match.

The Revival Retain

What can you say about this match aside from “WOW?” The Revival are so good, but Gargano and Ciampo really brought a different style than they have seen. The reversals, the splash moves and the skill from them made The Revival really keep up. I loved the double kick and thought that was the end, but the foot on the rope is so old school and brought great heat. When that ended, Gargano was distracted and then was chopped down. The Revival brought the filth, brought the intensity and ultimately showed why they might be the best tag team. The Revival can go with anyone.

I want to see this feud continue. I think we are just getting good with Gargano and Ciampo. It seemed like they were teasing a potential turn from Ciampo, but that would not have been the right now. Let them work together and rebuild the depth in the tag team division in NXT.
