Chris Jericho defeated Neville
Neville starts off hot with a nice few suplexes and then throws Jericho to the outside. Neville is in control heading to a break. Chris Jericho hits a springboard elbow from the top rope, but Neville hits a Standing Shooting Star press for a two count. Jericho slides of the ring and Neville hits a running kick. Springboard moonsault to the outside knocks out the former champion. Chris Jericho knocks him off the top. A missile dropkick and another two count for Neville. Chris Jericho gets thrown into the corner and into a German Suplex. Jericho rolls through into a Walls, but a small package gets Neville a two count. Neville hits a superkick and goes up top. Jericho rolls into a Walls of Jericho and picks up the victory.
You have to admit that Jericho continues to get better and better, staying healthy and being one of the consistently entertaining superstars in many ways. He counters so much and makes everyone look so good in the ring. The freak athleticism of Neville can never be overlooked and the speed of this match benefit both men tonight. Chris Jericho and Neville continue to work a smooth and easy transitional match. Good stuff and the crowd was certainly in it the entire time.
Nia Jax Squashes
Nia hits a clothesline into a local worker. Nia grabs her hair and throws her on the mat, followed by an elbow drop. She drives her into the corner and then thrusts shoulders into the stomach. Nia finishes her off for the win with an inverted Samoan Drop.
Another night and another easy win for Nia Jax. I like Nia a lot and think she can really be something, but her size could be a problem in long term booking. I do NOT want her to be a Tamina, just used as a bodyguard. I also am not sure she can compete for a Women’s Championship yet. What do you do with her? Wouldn’t it be interesting if she was paired with another guy that is continuously squashing opponents? Braun and Nia… power couple? There needs to be more and more soon of some compelling matches and stories revolving around Nia Jax.
