Isenberg Reacts: WWE TLC “New Champions Mean New Paths in 2017”

Baron Corbin Defeated Kalisto

For the second straight WWE TLC event, I was very impressed with the talent that Kalisto possesses in the ring. His match with Baron Corbin was something I was not interested in all week. I felt like this feud has been going on too long and has stalled the development of Baron Corbin becoming a main event talent. Well, tonight’s match was great. A Chairs Match is tricky, but both men were very creative and Kalisto brought out the best in Baron. For a big man, Baron can sell and made Kalisto look really strong. The spots with the chairs gave us an even level playing field. but Baron would end up victorious.

Baron Corbin hit a nasty End of Days on a pile of chairs to end the night of Kalisto. Kalisto, a man who defeated Ryback earlier this year, holds his own and makes you forget how small he is in the ring. At the end of the match, I felt like both men brought a new level of aggression and I am excited to see where both men go. They are too talented to not develop something more with each man.

Alexa Bliss defeated Becky Lynch

Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch did battle at WWE TLC in a Tables Match. A smart booking decision, as Bliss could win without pinning or making Becky submit. With all of the title changes on RAW with Charlotte and Sasha, I felt like this was a prime opportunity for WWE to make Alexa Bliss become THAT much more important and believable. Well, they went through with it and Alexa was able to powerbomb the champion through the table to capture her first WWE Smackdown Live Women’s Championship.

So, what next? With Becky Lynch, she will get another shot at the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship and continue this feud. I think these two women could battle for another 1-2 months and be completely fine with that. They can get more out of Becky chasing than Alexa chasing. Lynch, a fan favorite, is going to have to show her desire to win. I love her passion and now is the time for her to add that. As champion, she has been very consistent in her character progress. Now would be the perfect time to do more, show more and go back to how great she was heading into WrestleMania. WWE made Alexa important tonight and that is exactly what needed to happen.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school.
