The Reality of Why A John Cena Mixed Tag Team Match Is Best For Business at WrestleMania 33

Nikki’s Last Hurrah

I think this is it for Nikki Bella. One thing we have yet to see is a storyline involving John Cena and Nikki Bella. The real life couple fighting the married couple is golden on so many avenues. It enhances Total Divas, Total Bellas and more original content (potentially) for the WWE Network. Think of when John Cena’s music hits and saves his girlfriend. As a guy who has been viewed as Superman, we have rarely seen that in a romantic storyline. With Nikki’s time winding down, this is the perfect opportunity with the perfect opponents.

Nikki Bella has put in so much work over the years where I can consider her a really good wrestler. She was not born into wrestling, but trained her ass off and got better with age. Nikki Bella and John Cena are both very similar in the ring and it is beginning to show with Nikki, a woman who powers through injury and makes herself better with more innovative moves and submission holds to balance her offense out.

You know how every single person who wins a championship now gets a “You Deserve It” chant? How about you stand up and speak on this for Nikki? She deserves a match like this at WrestleMania 33, especially if it is going to be her last in WWE. Credit hard work, dedication and being able to brand herself and WWE to a wider audience than just men.

What Does 2017 Hold?

With the depleted lineup on Smackdown Live, The Miz is in a sweet spot to be the top heel on that brand. Outside of Randy Orton, AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt, The Miz is right there. He would be a great fit for a championship run after WrestleMania 33 and into the summer, especially if he performs like he usually does on the stage of WrestleMania. We all have applauded how good he was, so why is everyone complaining about this matchup? It could be the stepping stone that he needs to get to the next level once again and become World Champion.

At the end of the day, The Miz and John Cena are two names I want to see together at WrestleMania 33. I also want to see Maryse, who has helped The Miz SO MUCH this year in his gimmick and is very underrated in the role that she takes part in. Have faith in the fact that this is a match for a reason bigger than pleasing the marks. No matter what match John Cena is in, there will be fans that complain and whine. Take off your fan goggles and put on your business suit. It makes sense and helps all involved this time of year.
