Isenberg Reacts: WWE NXT “Goodbye Tye, Hello Hideo”

Goodbye To Tye Dillinger

The Perfect 10 ended his run in NXT against Eric Young in a Steel Cage match. Eric Young, as dangerous as they come, used the cage so much in the match. It worked for his intensity and his ruthless attacks. Tye Dillinger finally got the upper hand by tossing Young around the ring and into the cage. A powerbomb and a nice move from the top gave Dillinger the upper hand for a moment. A great spot in the match was an absolutely perfect elbow drop from Young to Tye. After that, a bloodied Young got some assistance from his members of Sanity.

Kassius Ohno and Roderick Strong helped out their friend in the ring, while Dillinger hit a cross body onto Young and Killian Dain. He is able to escape the cage and end his NXT run with his biggest win.

Tye Dillinger is one of my favorite guys from NXT. His work ethic has been spotlighted over his career, but he was always the guy that came up short. Tonight’s match was not about Sanity. It was about a memorable win for Tye Dillingre and his exit. He does not need the big treatment like Nakamura or Balor. He is not on their level and that is perfectly fine. Tye Dillinger got a great sendoff on NXT in Full Sail University, where he has been beloved and grown leaps and bounds. His next step will be something of importance on Smackdown Live. To think he will be used poorly on Tuesday nights is a very pessimistic way of thinking. If he gets the crowd behind him like he did in NXT, there is no reason to think he can succeed on Smackdown.

Tonight was a perfect ending for Dillinger. The cage match was just enough. A few big spots, some good wrestling and an overall good ending to the night.

Lastly, the new music and graphics were much needed and excellent. It feels like a new era and these changes only remind us that new and fresh is on the way.
