Despite having no title on the line, the grudge feud between Diamond Dallas Page and ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage was deemed big enough to main event a marquee WCW PPV. Randy Savage was willing to put over DDP to take their rivalry to the next level, and DDP understood how important it was that a star of Savage’s caliber wanted to take The Diamond Cutter.
In the clip above, DDP explains why the Diamond Cutter in their match was so important. The arena erupted as the referee hit the 3-count. Their feud, however, was far from over. But it was a major victory for DDP regardless, to beat Savage clean.
