#4.) vs Sting – Clash Of The Champions 1988

NWA’s Clash Of The Champions was supposed to be their answer to WrestleMania. It aired and went head to head with WrestleMania IV and the main event featured the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair take on the young upstart Sting. Flair’s manager J.J Dillon would get the best view in the house, being suspended above the ring in a shark cage.

The two would go on to have a 45-minute war, with 5 judges scoring at ringside. The match would go on to be a time-limit draw. Weirdly enough, despite having 5 judges, only 3 judges’ outcomes were revealed. One judge awarded it to Flair, the other awarded it to Sting while the third judge ruled it a draw. The other two celebrity judges’ decisions were never shown. Now talk about bizarre!

Flair displayed all of his heel tactics and this was just the beginning of a rivalry that would go on for another 13 years!
