Shawn Michaels received a deserve coronation at WrestleMania 12 in 1996, when he defeated Bret Hart in the main event to win the first of his four World Championships. He briefly won the title back in 1997 but vacated it. But his 1996 run with the title can best be described as disappointing because it just didn’t draw as well as hoped.
