#3.) Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan had a terrible run of luck between 2014-15, getting injured very quickly after making a return. All the concussion-related issues meant that WWE refused to clear him and forced him to go into retirement. He wasn’t mad about it but he understood and on February 2016, he said an emotional farewell to the WWE Universe.

It was hard to find a single dry eye ringside and in front of his defacto hometown of Seattle (it was the closest WWE would go to Aberdeen), he bid farewell and expressed his gratitude to everyone and everything. This likely would have been higher on the list had he not gotten medically cleared to compete two years later.

Bryan proved to be relentless and got tests done from doctors all across the United States, all of whom clearly told him that he could wrestle. WWE didn’t want to let him out of his contract, so he gave an ultimatum – if he wasn’t cleared to wrestle by September 2018, he was going to leave.

Thankfully, he came to a deal with WWE doctors and Vince McMahon and he came back in 2018, winning the WWE championship later that year. It would be nothing short of an inspirational comeback.
