#5.) The Rock vs ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin – WrestleMania X7

WrestleMania X7 is widely regarded as potentially the greatest PPV in pro wrestling history and for a good reason. The card was extremely stacked from top to bottom and the main event was the biggest match possible – the two icons of the franchise Steve Austin and The Rock going at it for the WWE Championship.

Though they faced each other in the main event of WrestleMania just two years prior, it was a whole different ballgame this time. They were both babyfaces, with Austin having won the Royal Rumble and The Rock having walked into WrestleMania X7 as WWE Champion.

The build was certainly an interesting one. They weren’t exactly best friends shaking hands. Austin eerily proclaimed that he would do “anything” to become WWE Champion again. Little did fans know what was coming. The match itself turned out to be an all-time great main event, where Mr. McMahon helped Austin win the championship in the most shocking (and unnecessary) heel turn ever.
