Batista had the quietest retirement on this list here. It probably had to do with the fact that WrestleMania 35 was also Kurt Angle‘s farewell – which goes to show the level of selflessness that Batista had, not wanting to take the spotlight from Angle. However, for Batista and the fans, there was no better way to go out.
He always stated that he wanted a match against Triple H and that would be the only time he would return. In 2019, he got that match and it would turn into a No Holds Barred contest. They had a rather underrated match filled with incredible psychology and Batista had the satisfaction of ending his career on his own terms. He announced his retirement on social media and that saw the perfect end to a legendary career. There was no better final opponent.
