What was really impressive about NWA in the 1980s wasn’t just the caliber of main eventers that they had. It was their extremely impressive and solid tag team division – perhaps the best in any promotion’s history at that point of time. While Ric Flair and Barry Windham were together as a part of the Four Horsemen, they didn’t team together very regularly, which made it all the more interesting when they did to take on the greatest tag team of the 1980s.

What ensued was an absolute tag team masterpiece and a match that tag team specialists probably still admire to this day. The two singles stars had to be a unit to take out the Jim Cornette-led tag team and they were given an extremely tough time until the very end, where they escaped with a victory.
