On the latest episode of Something to Wrestle, former WWE producer Bruce Prichard talked about WWE CEO Vince McMahon & what his reaction was when Jesse “The Body” Ventura asked for his support for his ultimately unsuccessful presidential run,

“As far as Jesse and wanting to run for president, Vince was aware of what Jesse wanted [support] and I believe had already told him the company was not interested in backing – not just Jesse – but anyone for president. He wasn’t gonna pick sides. Also, I don’t think that Jesse had a chance in hell of winning, so why would you commit yourself, in a public company and an entertainment company, limit yourself to endorsing one candidate; but, you’re endorsing a candidate that doesn’t have a chance in hell of winning, unless it’s Bob Backlund? Vince didn’t want to get into that and didn’t want to get into the political side of things and he told Jesse that. Jesse felt that it was an opportunity and I don’t think Jesse believed for a second he would win either. He just wanted the PR and he wanted the hoopla surrounding it.”
