The December 5th date confirms a previous report by a Reddit poster who claimed this would be when the full slate of teams would be revealed.
While the league has not confirmed any host teams or venues yet, a report from KSDK St Louis / 5 On Your Side Sports Director Frank Cusumano claims one of the teams will be in St. Louis. It was said that the XFL team in St. Louis will play five of their games (in a ten game schedule) at the Dome at America’s Center (formerly the Edward Jones Dome) which served as the NFL Rams’ home from 1995 through 2015.
As noted earlier, Vince McMahon originally said every city, including those with existing NFL teams, would be on the league’s radar. While no teams have been confirmed by the league so far, Oakland is one city that has bowed out, citing timing and sharing space with the Oakland Athletics at the Coliseum as why they would not field a team.
