Backstage News On All Elite Wrestling Contract Terms For Chris Jericho, Joey Janela & More

AEW All Elite Wrestling

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has given a few updates in his latest Observer Newsletter regarding contract terms and some particulars when it comes to some of All Elite Wrestling‘s newly signed talent.

According to Meltzer, Chris Jericho was one of the first wrestling people to know that the Khans were interested in getting involved in the business. It was also noted that Jericho was still in contractual discussions with WWE as late as December. Jericho’s AEW deal is a three-year exclusive, meaning no big show WWE appearances through that course of time. The only exceptions are for NJPW, who Jericho still wants to work with and he’s allowed to continue with his “Jericho Rock-N Wrestling Rager At Sea”.

Meltzer has reported that Jericho’s contract with AEW is a much better contract than what the “Lionheart” has ever earned in his WWE. You combine that with the opportunity to appear for big show paydays with New Japan and that is indeed universe-changing.

Meltzer continues to report that Joey Janela, Penelope Ford and MJF have signed non-exclusive deals. MJF has a two-year deal with MLW and CEO Court Bauer notes that he’s been in contact with AEW and believes there will not be a problem for MJF working between the two companies. AEW has reportedly not pulled any talent from their already scheduled bookings, and their deals with talent range from three-year deals, three-month deals and single-date deals.
