WWE has announced that they are switching streaming service providers for their WWE Network.
Since its inception in 2014, WWE was working with BAMTech which is now known as Disney Streaming Services.
In a story initially broke by Variety, WWE reveals that they’re working with Endeavor Streaming. WWE’s deal with BAMTech ended at the end of 2018 and they have opted not to renew the deal.
In a publicly released statement, Vince McMahon said the following about Endeavor:
“Endeavor Streaming’s best-in-class technology enables us to offer more features, elevate the user experience and provides us even more opportunity to delight our fans around the world.”
WWE has also announced a partnership with Massive Interactive, a user interface design firm recently acquired by Deltatre which will be used with Endeavor as part of WWE’s evolving strategy to “own more of the WWE Network technology stack.” According to a WWE statement.
Endeavor Streaming’s president of business operations, Will Staeger has prior experience with WWE. He has worked there as well as ESPN and Dick Clark Productions:
“We’ve integrated Endeavor’s scalable platform with NeuLion’s industry-leading technology and feature set to provide clients with the best tools and services in video streaming, removing technology as a barrier in reaching their consumers,” Wilson and Staeger said in a joint statement.
It will be interesting to see what kind of changes come to WWE Network following this new development.
