205 Live Results (04/30/19): Tony Nese Takes On Drew Gulak

Tonight’s episode of 205 Live had its main event set up earlier in the day, as general manager Drake Maverick announced via Twitter that Tony Nese would be taking on Drew Gulak in a rematch from the Cruiserweight Championship tournament.

Before that, however, the Singh Brothers made a surprise return to the world of 205 Live, and were pit in a tag-team match against Lucha House Party members Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. In what was a surprising back and forth match between both duos, it was the Lucha House Party that came out on top, as both Metalik and Dorado were able to show off their high flying capabilities, landing some devastating splashes on the Singh Brothers en route to a competitive victory.

Shortly after the match, things quickly escalated during the next planned match, as Mike Kanellis interrupted the entrance of Brian Kendrick. With Kanellis taking him down to the ground, it was Akira Tozawa who joined the fray, attacking Kanellis and causing Drake Maverick and a crew of security guards to storm out and restore order to things. With things calming down, Maverick announced that next week, Tozawa and Kanellis would be taking place in a No Disqualification Match.

When it came time for the final match, both Gulak and Nese looked to be in top form, with the pair of them giving it their all in the Cruiserweight Tournament rematch. Both superstars traded blows with each other, and for a moment, it looked like anyone might be able to go home with the victory.

Unfortunately for Gulak, it was the WWE Cruiserweight Champion who ended up taking the victory, as Nese was able to counter Gulak’s attempt at a slam and deliver a vicious kick to the head of Gulak, ending the match and showing the 205 Live roster why Nese is the champion.
