Why Last Night’s Elimination Match Ended After The First Pinfall

On last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE held a Fatal Four-Way Elimination match to determine who would face Seth Rollins for the Universal Title at Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia next week. Baron Corbin won the bout by defeating The Miz last.

In all, the match featured Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Miz, and Corbin. The match came down to Miz and Corbin last after Strowman and Lashley got themselves counted out while brawling outside the ring to the back. According to PWInsider, the argument was made that, to protect talents, there should only be one elimination.

WWE officials had been going back and forth all day about whether or not the match should be an Elimination match or a Single Fall match. Some argued that there shouldn’t be three eliminations, instead just doing one, an argument that eventually won out.
