WWE Backstage Notes: Road Dogg Working NXT, 24/7 Title Ideas

According to reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former SmackDown writer Brian James is now working as a coach for Paul Levesque in NXT teaching classes. He is notably not working on that brand’s creative team as of yet, although there are some expectations of him moving into that spot eventually. NXT’s creative team has produced some absolute classics over the years, so there may be some hesitation to mess with a proven formula.

Elsewhere in WWE’s creative team, ideas for the 24/7 Championship are coming around. As many expected when the belt first made its debut, there are pitches involving title defenses on YouTube and Instagram. There’s also talk of the champion competing at the Performance Center between shows, matches that would assumedly show up on the WWEPC YouTube channel before long. Matches like this seem inevitable, as they’re really the real reason to bring back a “Hardcore Title” in the modern age.
