After tonight’s NXT TakeOver XXV wowed the crowd and features a variety of incredible matches, Triple H took to the backstage are and discussed his own thoughts on the event on Periscope.
After talking about how great of a show it was, Triple H discussed how each superstar is always ready to make a statement. “From each individual superstar, to everyone here, to the brand in general, going out there and making a statement…and statement made.”
Triple H went on to talk about Matt Riddle, praising him as a “shining star” in the NXT, but also heaped a ton of praise upon Roderick Strong, who Triple H said made everyone around him better. “Roderick Strong is one of those amazing athletes and talents, that everybody he steps into the ring with, he brings up in level,” he said. “They come across as a bigger star, they come across as better, he makes everybody step up to a better game. He’s that level of talent.”
When it came to the ladder match for the NXT Tag Team Championships, Triple H showed nothing but love for the superstars involved, saying that he could relate to what they were willing to go through to win. Similarly, with the NXT North American Championship, Triple H praised Tyler Breeze for coming back to the NXT, saying that not only was it not a “one-off” match, but that he thinks it’s just the beginning for Breeze in the NXT.
As he was discussing the NXT Women’s Championship match, Triple H understood Io Shirai’s attack on Shayna Baszler, noting that perhaps Shirai finally understands that she can’t fully be a good sport about every match. Finally, Triple H praised both Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano, especially Cole when it came to capitalizing on his opportunity to capture the NXT Championship.
