Daniel Bryan has been spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, host city of tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.
While not a confirmation that Bryan would appear live on the show tonight, Bryan’s whereabouts are noteworthy since WWE doesn’t have any live events scheduled tonight, and tomorrow’s SmackDown taping is several hours away in Detroit.
Bryan’s last appearance on WWE RAW came in June, when he worked an elimination tag team match, teaming with The Revival against The New Day and The Usos on June 24. WWE also advertised him as appearing (under the Wild Card rule) on the Stomping Grounds go-home show in Los Angeles the week prior, where he lost to Seth Rollins in singles competition.
Bryan is not being advertised locally in Pittsburgh for tonight’s event at time of press. Bryan has not wrestled since the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in Philadelphia on July 14, when he and Rowan lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. He has been appearing regularly on SmackDown Live, teasing a ‘career altering announcement’ for several weeks without actually making the announcement.

It’s been reported that Bryan is in line to face Roman Reigns at Summerslam. It was also speculated that Bryan was behind the recent backstage incident with Reigns on SmackDown, but WWE’s storyline report stated that the calamity was due to a ‘forklift’ error. Bryan and Reigns have feuded before, with their match coming back in 2015 at the Fastlane pay-per-view.
