Elias Involved In Jeff Hardy ‘Hit-And-Run’ Angle Due To Legitimate Injury

Elias may not actually have needed to be stretchered off of SmackDown two Fridays ago, but according to POST Wrestling, The Drifter will be drifting away from WWE programming for a bit as he recovers from a legitimate injury.

John Pollack of POST Wrestling reports that Elias was indeed written off television due to a torn pectoral muscle. Pollack’s sources are unknown as to when the injury actually occurred but he being involved in the angle was a way to get him off television as he recovers.

Elias was last in a feud with Baron Corbin as the two squared off most recently on the May 15 rendition of Friday Night SmackDown. Michael Cole did mention on the latest episode that one of the injuries Elias did suffer was a torn pectoral and even gave a time window of a couple of months for The Guitar Man to recuperate .
