Bobby Lashley Put A Treadmill In His Dining Room, He’s Training Like ‘Rocky’ For WrestleMania

Bobby Lashley is training hard for WrestleMania because it isn’t just any other event to him.

Lashley recently spoke with Scott Fishman for TV Insider and noted the situation WWE is in with WrestleMania 37 around the corner. WWE’s marquee event is the first one in months that will see fans come back on a large scale, and Lashley says he’s not just treating it like any old event. The current United States Champion says it’s already exciting enough because it’s WrestleMania, but he’s also working in a unique way to make sure he’s on top of his game.

“I just had a treadmill put in my damn dining room. I’m training like Rocky. I’m working with a strength and conditioning coach. Some people take it as another event, but it’s bigger than that. On top of that, we haven’t had live events for so long,” Lashley said, “so we haven’t had those reps in front of fans. That means you have to do a little more training. Everyone is going to want to put on the best show they can. It’s WrestleMania season. It’s exciting.”

The Hurt Business has worked with a myriad of talent since joining forces last summer, one of which is “Limitless” Keith Lee. When asked if he sees similarities between himself and Lee, Lashley agreed and said Lee is definitely one person that’s right on the cusp of breaking out.

“Now that you say that, I kind of do. When I first came in, I was a major player. Then I hovered. At certain times I faced John Cena, Booker T and JBL [John Bradshaw Layfield], but I never broke through to get that world title. Keith has earned respect from a lot of people. He has been going out there and doing everything he has to do. I think he’s the kind of person who might need a little Hurt Business in his life to take him to that next level. He is ready to breakout, as are others.”

Lashley will defend his United States Championship at Elimination Chamber against Lee and Matt Riddle in a triple threat match.
