Sheamus Explains The Severity Of His Injury, Expresses His Interest In Winning The IC Title

Sheamus’ recovery from a broken nose continues, as the injury he suffered in a match with Humberto Carrillo was quite extensive.

“The Celtic Warrior” recently spoke with Vicente Beltran and offered an update; he explained the extent of the damage, but he also emphasized that he’s eager to return to the ring.

“I’m doing okay, getting better, you know, there was a lot of damage done to the outside and inside [of my nose],” said Sheamus. “I cracked my septum, and there’s like fractures and breaks on the outside. It was actually more painful getting the nose put back together than it was getting it broken. Just more annoying. But yeah I’m on the mend.

“Nothing stops me. I don’t like to sit at home and I don’t like to make excuses for not being out there when I can be.”

Though Sheamus is currently enjoying his run with the WWE United States Championship, he has his sights set on the one title that he’s been unable to hold throughout his successful career — the prestigious Intercontinental Championship.

“I’m always thinking about that,” Sheamus explained. “That’s part of looking forward, that’s definitely still in my target range, you know what I mean? I was on SmackDown, and obviously that title’s on smackdown so there’s nothing I can do about it right now.

“But I’m sure there will come when I get an opportunity at it, and that’s when I’ll try to get that in and become an Ultimate Grand Slam Champion, the only ever Ultimate Grand Slam Champion.”
