To say that there’s no love lost between Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Sammy Guevara would be an understatement, and during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the two clashed in the main event. In a match between two bitter rivals, MJF got the upper hand, and some help, to come away with the win.
From the very start of the match, MJF and Sammy Guevara went at it like it was a championship match. The two traded big blows, submission attempts, and various other chops and punches. As the match went on, the two began to ratchet up the intensity, with Guevara getting up on the top rope and landing a huge 630 senton splash onto MJF that somehow didn’t put him away.
Towardd the end of the match, things began to spiral out of control, as Chris Jericho – who was on commentary – left the table after Guevara hit the huge senton and was promptly attacked by Wardlow. As a brawl erupted outside of the ring, Shawn Spears absolutely leveled Guevara with a chair while the referee was distracted. All that was left was for MJF to crawl over and pin Guevara for the victory.
