Chelsea Green Arrives In ROH, Women’s World Title Tournament Bracket Revealed (Updated)

“This is what freedom looks like,” said Chelsea Green.

The former WWE star shockingly appeared at Ring of Honor Best in the World on Sunday night and made it clear that she has her sights set on the ROH Women’s World Championship. She acknowledged that she’s not cleared to wrestle yet, but she emphasized her goal to do everything her previous place of employment told her she couldn’t do. Green stated that one month from now, she’ll join the other competitors in the ROH women’s division in the quest to win the gold. But due to her injury, she will be unable to compete in the ROH Women’s World Championship Tournament.

Green was released from WWE on April 15, and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that this appearance came before her 90-day no-compete clause was scheduled to be up.

Additionally, Maria Kanellis-Bennett unveiled the new title, and Lenny Leonard announced that the finals of the tournament will be held at ROH Death Before Dishonor in September.

The duo also released the bracket for the tournament, and it is as follows:

  • Miranda Alize vs. Alex Gracia
  • Mazzerati vs. Nicole Savoy
  • Allysin Kay vs. Willow Nightingale
  • Marti Belle vs. Trish Adora
  • Sumie Sakai vs. Rok-C
  • Mandy Leon vs. TBD
  • Max The Impaler vs. Holidead
  • Angelina Love- first-round bye

If Quinn McKay beats Leon on ROH Wrestling the weekend of July 16, she will earn the final spot in the tournament.

Leon was originally scheduled to face Vita VonStarr in the opening round, but she was removed from the tournament.

The tournament will begin on ROH Wrestling the week of July 31.
