According to a recent report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, a big name is set to join All Elite Wrestling “imminently.”
Various rumors began floating around after Tony Khan announced that a “top wrestler” would make their debut on the February 9 episode of AEW Dynamite. Fightful Select then broke the news on Wednesday that Keith Lee is planning on making a run with the company. The report notes that talent began speculating about the move this past weekend, and while those in WWE were unsure about Lee’s next move, it seems like he’s heading to AEW.
As of now, it’s unclear exactly when Lee will arrive. Khan has continued to hype up the big new signing ahead AEW Dynamite, but whether Lee shows up will have to remain to be seen.
Following his release from WWE, Lee has been a busy man. Not only did he get married to his longtime partner Mia Yim, but he also began preparing for his next chapter. On January 20, Lee filed to trademark “Limitless” for entertainment services and a stylized L logo with an infinity symbol overlaying the same for entertainment services and merchandise purposes.
Lee is a former NXT Champion, and he was one of the brand’s top stars during the black-and-gold era. He moved up to the main roster on August 24, 2020, and he memorably defeated Randy Orton in his first pay-per-view match at Payback 2020. Lee dealt with medical issues and inconsistent booking later in his run on WWE RAW. The former champion missed several months of action before he was repackaged as “Bearcat” Lee shortly before his release on November 4.
