Rick Boogs Suffers Torn Quad At WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 1, Will Require Surgery

Rick Boogs went down with an injury at WWE WrestleMania 38 Night One.

In the show-opening bout, Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura challenged The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. During the bout, Boogs went down with an apparent leg injury, and he was helped to the back.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer tweeted a report later in the show. He first wrote that the early word suggested that Boogs suffered a torn quad before he later stated that the update is a “possibly torn patella tendon” for the SmackDown star.

Later in the show, the broadcast team confirmed that Boogs tore his quad, and his patella tendon will require surgery. PWInsider.com also reports that Boogs is being sent to Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday to have the surgery, and will be out for several months, depending on the severity of the injury.

Boogs has regularly been appearing on WWE SmackDown alongside Nakamura since last year.
