Hikaru Shida Qualifies For Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament On 4/6 AEW Dynamite

Hikaru Shida has officially qualified for the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament, following a big win over Julia Hart during the April 6 episode of AEW Dynamite.

In a relatively quick match, Shida was able to walk out with a win after surviving some early attacks from Hart. Late in the match, Shida picked Hart up and nailed a huge suplex on her, before ending things with a bulldog for a near fall and a falcon arrow that officially ended things. Following the end of the match, Serena Deeb — who has been feuding with Shida for a couple of months now — came down to the ring brandishing a steel chair.

Shida quickly pulled out a kendo stick, and the two had a brief stare down.

For a recap of how the match ended, check out below courtesy of our live play-by-play coverage:

Hart attacks Shida from behind and then demands Brian Pillman Jr, and Griff Garrisson to the back. We go to picture in picture following Hart’s attitude change. Back from it, Shida gets back in control and hits a stump suplex. Shida picks Hart up over the apron and nails a suplex. Hart later nails a bulldog for a near fall. Shida nails a falcon arrow for the 1-2-3 finish.

WINNER and ADVANCING: Hikaru Shida

Shida, a former AEW Women’s World Champion, will now join Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter in the bracket, as they won their respective qualifying matches.
