New NXT Tag Team Champions Crowned On 4/12 WWE NXT 2.0

New NXT Tag Team Champions were crowned on the April 12 episode of WWE NXT 2.0.

The titles were “relinquished” last week after WWE released Nash Carter, who was a co-champion with his MSK partner, Wes Lee. WWE subsequently announced that a five-team gauntlet match would determine the new champions on Tuesday night.

The Creed Brothers almost became the new titleholders as Julius and Brutus Creed nearly went the distance. But in the end, the men who attacked them weeks ago now hold the gold. The brothers drew number one as they first defeated Legado del Fantasma before pinning Briggs & Jensen and finally taking out Grayson Waller and Sanga before facing the men who attacked them, Pretty Deadly.

PD put their focus on wearing down Julius. Julius eventually made the hot tag to Brutus. Endurance was a factor in the storytelling, as the fresh legs of Pretty Deadly played to their benefit. The newcomers got a few nearfalls, but both Julius and Brutus kept fighting through the exhaustion. Despite their valiant effort, Pretty Deadly clinched the win with their Spilt Milk finisher.

With the win, Pretty Deadly won the gold in their in-ring debut on WWE 2.0. The duo revealed themselves as the Creeds’ masked assailants on the April 5 episode. Pretty Deadly previously held the NXT UK Tag Team Championship.
