Roman Reigns has already successfully unified the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship, and now, his cousins will aim to do the same to both pairs of tag team titles at WWE WrestleMania Backlash.
During the April 15 episode of WWE SmackDown, the reigning WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos came down to visit the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro and, more importantly, to hear the answer to their challenge of a unification bout. Jimmy and Jey Uso threw down the gauntlet this past week on WWE RAW.
During their back-and-forth on Friday night, The Usos called RK-Bro the “twos” to their “ones,” before Orton called them “assholes” and said that they were nothing but “puppies” that “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns had let off the leash. However, despite the animosity, Orton accepted the challenge on their behalf, setting the stage for a huge unification title match at WrestleMania Backlash.
For a recap of how the segment occurred in full, check out below courtesy of our live play-by-play coverage:
Randy Orton and Riddle come to the ring. “The Original Bro” says he’s stoked to be back on WWE SmackDown and gets sidetracked by his love of SmackDown. Orton gets things back in track by recapping how The Usos challenged RK-Bro on Monday night, and he then calls SmackDown Tag Team Champions out. Jimmy and Jey answer the call, as they come to the ring. The Usos tell RK-Bro that they’re behind enemy lines, but they want to know RK-Bro’s answer to their challenge. Jimmy wants to remind them who they’re dealing with; he says they’re dealing with seven-time tag team champions. Jimmy tells them to go back to RAW and says RK-Bro is the “twos” and they’re the “ones.” Orton calls them “assholes” and “puppies” that “The Big Dog” let off the leash. He reminds them he’s been setting records for 20 years.
“The Viper” accepts The Usos’ challenge to the title unification match. The Usos leave the ring and sneak attack Riddle. The two teams then stare each other down.
