Britt Baker Advances In Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament On 5/18 AEW Dynamite

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is on to the Semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Tournament, as she took down Maki Itoh during the May 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Itoh — who appeared as the mystery “Joker” entrant — frequently wrestles for Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. In 2021, she competed in the Women’s World Title Eliminator tournament and lost to Ryo Mizunami in the first round. She also teamed up with Britt Baker at AEW Revolution, but she showed up to face the former AEW Women’s World Champion on Wednesday.

Itoh put up a valiant effort, but AEW’s resident dentist took the advantage late in the contest. To clinch the win, she made Itoh tap out to the Lockjaw. With the victory, Baker advances to the next round; she will face Toni Storm in the Semifinals. The tournament will conclude at AEW Double or Nothing.

For a recap of how the match ended, check out below courtesy of our live play-by-play coverage:

Maki acts like she’s going to give Britt the pinfall, but she catches her with a near pin fall. Maki literally uses her head a couple times and nails her patented diving headbutt, but Britt gets in a lockjaw. Maki immediately submits.

WINNER and ADVANCES: Britt Baker
