Don’t expect to see Kenny Omega make a surprise appearance at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday.
Though the former AEW World Champion resumed his work as a producer at a few recent TV tapings, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Omega will not be traveling to the pay-per-view. He noted that Omega is still too early in the healing process to go on the road with his numerous injuries
Previous reports noted that Omega had arthroscopic knee surgery, and he was set for another procedure to repair a sports hernia in March.
Meltzer stated that, according to Omega, some of his body is healthy, so he can train and push himself, but other parts have been healing slowly. He also cited Omega as saying that while he probably will never be 100% again, he’s hopeful that repairing his injuries could prolong his time as an “effective” wrestler.
Omega hasn’t wrestled since he dropped the AEW World Championship to Hangman Page at the Full Gear pay-per-view in November.
