MJF was not the only one who skipped the AEW Double or Nothing Fan Fest over the weekend. Reports indicate that Samoa Joe was also scheduled to be at the event but did not show up similarly to MJF. Security told fans in attendance that they did not know anything about the situation or where Joe was at.
However, Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer reported that Samoa Joe only missed the event because of a miscommunication and the situation is completely unrelated to MJF skipping the event.
Samoa Joe is scheduled to compete against Adam Cole in the finals of the Owen Hart tournament at the PPV.
It appears the situation with Samoa Joe and the Fan Fest was a communication issue, so totally different from whatever is happening with MJF, who did no-show.
