AEW Rampage Results (7/8/22): Konosuke Takeshita Takes On Eddie Kingston

All Elite Wrestling kicked off June with a star-studded episode of AEW Rampage on July 8. Tonight’s broadcast features some big matches, including Orange Cassidy taking on Tony Nese, Mercedes Martinez and Serena Deeb going at it, and a big bout between Konosuke Takeshita and Eddie Kingston.

Elsewhere in the night, Jonathan Gresham and Lee Moriarty will look to score a big win against Kaun and Toa, the “Gates of Agony,” in a big tag team match.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Eddie Kingston def. Konosuke Takeshita via pinfall

In a stellar opening match, it was Kingston that would come out on top, taking down Takeshita late after surviving a big brainbuster to come back with two spinning backfists. After both men had suffered some huge hits, it came down to a slugging match, with both men seemingly passing out at the same time, with Kingston falling onto Takeshita and scoring the win in the process.

Match 2: Gates of Agony def. Jonathan Gresham & Lee Moriarty via pinfall

The second match of the night saw Gresham and Moriarty fall just short of a big tag team victory. Late in the match, Moriarty struggled handling both members of Gates of Agony on his own after Gresham had been taken down outside of the ring. However, as Moriarty went to tag Gresham after a bit, Gresham pulled his hand away and walked out on his partner, hugging Tully Blanchard outside of the ring. That was all for Moriarty, as the Gates of Agony ended things in the ring with a big slam.

Match 3: Mercedes Martinez & Serena Deeb def. Christina Marie & Kayla Sparks

In a match that saw Martinez and Deeb bickering throughout their partnership, the duo was still able to come out on top with a win. Things ended quickly here, as Deeb forced Marie into the Serenity Lock before forcing her to tap out for the win. Immediately after the win, though, Deeb and Martinez began arguing, with Deeb hitting her with a clothesline before locking her into her own Serenity Lock before leaving her in the ring.

Match 4: Orange Cassidy def. Tony Nese via pinfall

The coolest superstar in all of AEW once again prevailed, dodging a ton of interference attempts from Mark Sterling. In the end, Danhausen ended up taking down Sterling and cursing up at Nese, who was too distracted himself to see Cassidy setting up the Orange Punch, which knocked out Nese and gave Orange Cassidy the win.
