Bobby Fish On Betraying The Young Bucks: ‘That Bridge Needed To Be Burned’

Bobby Fish says he, Kyle O’Reilly, and Adam Cole did what they had to do on the August 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.

On Wednesday, the trio betrayed the Young Bucks. In doing so, they broke up the Undisputed Elite, a group that had been seen as a super-stable that featured the former Undisputed Era trio and the Jackson brothers.

During an appearance on Rewind Recap Relive, Fish was asked about the decision to turn on the Bucks, and he stated that it had to be done.

“That bridge needed to be burned,” said Fish. “There’s way too much history there between the individuals involved for bygones to remain bygones, so it had to be done.”

AEW recently announced a tournament for the AEW World Trios Championship, and Fish noted that he’s not sure about the plan for him, Cole, and O’Reilly. The latter duo are currently not cleared to compete due to their respective injuries.

“I’m not sure really what’s going on with the trios at the moment,” said Fish. “We though naturally we would be in that, but at the moment, I don’t really have confirmation on in or out.”

Moving forwar, the veteran made it clear that the former Undisputed Elite members have some plans on the backburner.

“Yeah we stirred it up last night, and we’re gonna see where the dust settles now,” said Fish. “We’ve got a couple things in our back pocket that will be implemented when the time is right or maybe they’ll stay in the back pocket for a bit longer.”
