Ace Steel Fined For Cursing On 8/31 Episode Of AEW Dynamite

Ace Steel‘s f-bomb ended up coming at a price.

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw an appearance by Ace Steel, CM Punk’s trainer and agent for the company. During his promo, Steel told Punk that he got knocked down but needed to remember that “You f-cking get back up” as he slapped Punk in the face.

According to PWInsider.com, Ace Steel went directly backstage and took responsibility for swearing on the broadcast and was ultimately fined. It was noted that Steel agreed to pay the fine and it was communicated by AEW that the money will be donated to a charity. Furthermore, it was noted that the company praised Steel’s immediate reaction as a good example of how to handle accidents and accept responsibility for them when they happen.

It was mentioned that AEW talent received an email noting a number of points to follow, one of which was to be careful not to use expletives on television this week.

The fine comes a week after F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported (via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter) that Warner Bros. Discovery had asked All Elite Wrestling to tone down their language recently. Will Washington of Fightful/Grapsody later added more context to this story and said that an AEW source claimed this was taken out of context. It was noted that the network did not issue an edict on the matter, but it was communicated that AEW could get heat from WBD “if they fly too close to the sun.”
