Liv Morgan believes that she silenced her doubters at WWE Clash at the Castle.
At the premium live event on September 3, she successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport after the match, Morgan discussed her victory and gave Baszler credit for a hard-fought bout.
“I couldn’t be happier,” Morgan said. “My body feels terrible, I hate Shayna Baszler, but I respect her so much for some reason. Out there tonight, she showed me how bad she wanted this, but she didn’t want it more than me.”
She then shared her belief that her victory on Saturday erased any doubts about her, and she stated that the feeling of holding the title has started to settle in.
“I feel like if anyone had any doubts before, then they definitely don’t have them now,” Morgan said. “It’s definitely settled, it’s definitely sinking in. It doesn’t feel like, ‘Pinch me, pinch me, pinch me’ anymore. This is mine.”
As for what’s next, Morgan made it clear that she doesn’t know whether her feud with Baszler will continue, but no matter what, she’ll be ready to defend the title as a fighting champion.
“I have no idea,” Morgan said. “I have no idea. I have no idea what’s to come, but all I know is, whoever thinks they’re willing to fight harder for than me, I’m ready.”
