Kurt Angle: There’s An ‘Idea’ For Me To Be Involved With WrestleMania 39 In A Non-Wrestling Role

Kurt Angle teases that WWE is thinking about getting him involved with WrestleMania 39.

The WWE Hall of Famer returned to WWE TV on the August 29 episode of RAW, which emanated from his hometown of Pittsburgh. While he hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 35 in 2019, he has had some offers from AEW in the past.

Speaking on the Wrassingh Show, Angle was asked whether potentially signing with AEW would jeopardize the relationship he has with WWE. In response, he made it clear that he doesn’t want to jeopardize that bond, and he mentioned that there’s an idea for him to be involved at WrestleMania 39 in some capacity.

“Yes I do,” Angle said. “That’s natural to think that. I have a contract with the WWE. It’s a nostalgia contract. It’s more of a merchandise contract with them right now. I’ve always tried to keep a good relationship with them ever since I left them for TNA and I came back to WWE. I don’t want to do that again. I don’t want to jump ship because WWE’s always been really good to me. They keep me active now. I was just on the show two weeks ago.

“They’re talking about maybe me doing something at WrestleMania, so they’re always reaching out to me to help do media and stuff like that and kind of be an ambassador for the company. So I like doing that and I don’t mind because I can’t wrestle anymore, so I might as well do that.

When asked to elaborate about his potential involvement at WrestleMania, he said, “No it’s even final, it’s just an idea. It won’t be in a wrestling capacity at all. There’s nothing there yet.”
