Eddie Kingston On What’s Next: I’m Done With Sammy Guevara, I Don’t Want To Fight Jon Moxley

Eddie Kingston says he’s done with Sammy Guevara, and he has his sights set on some of the “pigs” in the locker room.

Kingston and Guevara were locked in a heated feud, which was temporarily paused when the fan-favorite star got suspended after he physically confronted Guevara backstage. Kingston battled “The Spanish God” on AEW Rampage: Grand Slam and initially scored the victory. However, the referee declared Guevara the winner instead when Kingston refused to let go of his match-ending submission hold after the bell. Outraged, Kingston attacked several guards in response to this result.

In an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Kingston was asked what’s next for him after his controversial loss to Guevara and whether he has unfinished business with the former AEW TNT Champion. He stated that the Guevara “thing” is done because he’s satisfied, despite the referee’s decision. He also made it clear that he’s putting his world title quest on hold because he doesn’t want to face the reigning champion, Jon Moxley. Kingston noted that they battled before, and he’d rather watch his friend’s back.

“To me, the Sammy thing is done,” Kingston said. “They said he won; whatever. I stretched him out and hit him a couple of times with a back fist. I’m satisfied. That’s why when they wanted to make me say I’m sorry, I rolled my eyes. They aren’t going to tell me what to do in terms of apologizing, especially when I don’t feel wrong in my actions. I feel like I have to put my world title aspirations on pause for a few reasons. One, I don’t want to fight Moxley. We did that dance already. I would rather watch his back.”

“The Mad King” continued by stating that he’s focused on dealing with the “pigs” in the locker room, and he’s going to do things his way now.

“Second, there are a bunch of pigs in our locker room. When I say pigs, I mean disgusting human beings. And since nobody is doing anything about it, I am. When they are telling me to apologize, no. I’m going to do things my way now. I did things their way for at least two or three years. People can cheer or boo. That’s on them. I can’t control them. I can only control myself. I want to lose control.

Kingston was also asked whether anyone is at the top of his list. He responded by saying that he’ll be “attacking” anyone who’s a “bad human being.”

“There is no list. If you’re a bad human being, if you’re a disgusting person in that locker room — and this is the most I’ll say without tweeting or talking any backstage stuff — you guys know who you are. I’m attacking you. Watch your backs.”
