Six-Man Tag Team Match And More Set For NJPW Rumble on 44th Street

Team Filthy will be in action at NJPW Rumble on 44th Street.

Following mayhem that occurred during NJPW STRONG Autumn Action, a six-man tag team match was announced for the October 28 event. Shota Umino, Homicide, and Wheeler Yuta will take on Tom Lawlor, Royce Isaacs, and Jorel Nelson.

Plus, reigning STRONG Openweight Champion Fred Rosser laid out an open challenge, welcoming any superstar to step forward and face him for the title in New York City.

The announcement, courtesy of NJPW’s website, is as follows:

Newly added to Rumble on 44th Street Friday, six man action will see Wheeler Yuta, Homicide and Shota Umino take on Tom Lawlor and the West Coast Wrecking Crew. Some weeks ago on STRONG, a tag match for Homicide and Yuta against BULLET CLUB’s Karl Anderson and Jay White saw Lawlor get involved, affronted that Homicide had been run into his colour commentary position. A post match attack by Team Filthy saw Shota Umino try to interject, only to be beaten back by Lawlor and company. Now a six man showdown hits New York, with the Notorious 187 in particular looking to create some NYC violence.

The updated card is as follows:

  • Kazuchika Okada & Eddie Kingston vs. Jay White & Juice Robinson
  • NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships: Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) (c) vs. Kevin Knight & The DKC vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Shelley & Alex Shelley)
  • KOPW 2022: Shingo Takagi vs. El Phantasmo (New York City Street Fight)
  • Yujiro Takahashi & SHO vs. Rocky Romero & YOH
  • Clark Connors vs. Minoru Suzuki
  • Shota Umino, Homicide, & Wheeler Yuta vs. Tom Lawlor & WCWC
  • NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship: Fred Rosser vs. TBD
