Matt Hardy Says The Elite Didn’t Do Anything Wrong In Their Situation, He’s Happy To See Them Back In AEW

Words have been spoken about what Matt Hardy says happened after the now-infamous All Out brawl.

During the latest episode of the Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy and co-host Jon Alba were talking about The Elite’s return to AEW television. The trio has not actually returned to live TV yet, but promos showing their respective work being “deleted” has been shown over the past few weeks. Alba and Hardy noted the irony in this “Delete the Elite” campaign compared to his own, then Hardy commented on their role in the All Out brawl with CM Punk.

“It’s going to be interesting to see The Elite back, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. I’m very happy they are back. I’ll say this right here and right now — those guys didn’t do anything wrong in the situation, if anything, they were the victims and I’m telling you that from a first-person perspective. I was there*, I witnessed it all and I love all three of those guys. I’ve known Matt and Nick forever. I’ve gotten to know Kenny while I’ve worked with AEW,” Hardy explained, “but I’m very happy they are returning to TV and they are back in the mix. They deserve to be in the mix.”

Hardy also spoke about Colt Cabana’s return to television and said he’s excited for Colt after being absent for an extended time.

“It is what it is. I don’t really have to sit here and go into things,” Hardy noted, “but we’re in a position where he came back to AEW TV and I’m glad to have him back.”

In closing, Hardy said he’s glad the investigation is closed and The Elite is back, calling them the heart and soul of the promotion.

*Hardy later posted the following statement on Twitter in regard to the podcast, noting that he was not at All Out and did not witness the reported brawl. Hardy said that he was merely commenting on watching the process play out during the investigation in the months since the event.

“My comments from this week’s @matthardypod have been misconstrued. I WAS NOT at All Out 2022. I DID NOT say I witnessed the events at All Out. I witnessed the entire process in real time over the months & stand by my comment that the Elite were not in the wrong,” Hardy wrote.
