Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the December 16 episode of WWE SmackDown, but they had some help.
On Friday, Kai and SKY defended against Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox. The challengers pushed the champions to the limit, and Nox nearly scored the win with the Shiniest Wizard. But Kai broke up the pin, setting the stage for an eye-opening conclusion. Nox took Bayley out at ringside, and she was attacked by a hooded individual. SKY took advantage of the situation and hit her signature moonsault for the win.

Update: WWE subsequently revealed that the attacker was Xia Li.
