Deonna Purrazzo Wished She Was Canadian As A Kid So She Could Train At The Hart Dungeon

Though born in New Jersey, Deonna Purrazzo dreamed of living elsewhere as a kid.

“The Virtuosa” has well-established herself in the world of professional wrestling. After training at the D2W Pro Wrestling Academy, Purrazzo moved on to the Team Adams Training facility in her home state. She later received an opportunity to also train with seasoned veteran Rip Rogers.

Through a seven-hour car ride, Purrazzo traveled alongside her trainer Damian Adams to Battle Arts Academy in Toronto, Canada. There, she attended and wrestled in a seminar conducted by Rip Rogers, which she described as “a big deal” for her, in a recent appearance on Counted Out with Mike & TylerIn addition, Purrazzo received a chance to meet the Battle Arts Academy owner, Anthony Carelli — better known as Santino Marella.

“It was really cool because I hadn’t met Santino before. His daughter Bianca, who is now in [WWE] NXT and thriving [as Arianna Grace], was there [too] and I got to meet her before her wrestling career even started. So I have some really great memories of just going up there and wrestling.”

Purrazzo recalled Canada as an overall “great environment,” and even revealed an interesting aspiration she had regarding the country. “I dreamt as a kid that I wanted to be Canadian, I wanted to be a Hart. I wanted to train at the Dungeon, I was so jealous that I was American and not Canadian,” she said.

Purrazzo’s home promotion of IMPACT Wrestling will return to Canada in Windsor, Ontario. On March 24th and 25th they present their Sacrifice pay-per-view and the subsequential “Fallout” television tapings. Purrazzo noted also that this will be her first trip back to Canada since late 2017 or early 2018.
