Roxanne Perez discusses her relationship with Mandy Rose and reflects on beating her to win the NXT Women’s Championship.
Perez earned a title shot by winning the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. She then dethroned Rose, who had held the championship for over 400 days, on the December 13 episode of WWE NXT.
Speaking with BT Sport, Perez spoke highly of Rose and stated that the former champion was always nice to her. She then recalled how Rose was happy that she could pass on the title to Perez, as they had become quite close. Perez also stated that, no matter what, Rose will do amazing things.
“Mandy is so amazing. She honestly is one of the best and sweetest humans I’ve ever met,” Perez said. “Since the moment I stepped into NXT, it’s nerve-wracking to be surrounded by people that you’ve been inspired by. One of my first few matches was against her for the NXT Women’s Championship, and she’s always been so sweet to me.
“She’s always giving me the best advice. Before and after the match, she gave me a big hug. We were both crying together. It was cool because she was really happy that she was able to pass it down to me, and I’ve gotten so close to her within the last few months, and no matter what, she’s gonna be amazing. She’s gonna do amazing things.
"You know, Mandy Rose is so amazing.
"She was really happy that she was able to pass the title down to me."

The day after she lost the title to Perez, WWE released Rose, reportedly due to her risqué FanTime content. Less than a week after her release, Rose had already made $500,000 through the platform.
