FTR Lose IWGP Tag Team Titles To Bishamon At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

FTR‘s losing streak continues.

At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) dethroned Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. At the end of the hard-fought match, Bishamon pinned Harwood with the GYR. The two teams shook hands after the bout in a clear sign of respect.

With the win, Bishamon kicked off their second reign with the gold. Goto and YOSHI-HASHI earned a title shot by winning NJPW Tag League 2022. Meanwhile, FTR previously won the titles by defeating United Empire (Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan) and Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta and Jay White) at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26. They defended the titles twice; most recently, they retained the gold against Cobb and Great-O-Khan at NJPW Battle Autumn on November 5.

For several months of 2022, FTR held the tag team titles in NJPW, AAA. The duo recently lost the AAA World Tag Team Championship to Dragon Lee and Dralistico at Noche de Campeones. They also lost the ROH World Team Team Championship when The Briscoes beat them in a Double Dog Collar Match at ROH Final Battle.
