Kansas’ Ronnie Platt Discusses The Elite Using ‘Carry On Wayward Son’

Ronnie Platt, the lead singer of Kansas, shares his thoughts on The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) using “Carry On Wayward Son”.

Omega and the Young Bucks returned at AEW Full Gear, where they used the classic song as their entrance theme. They have continued to use it for their trios matches ever since.

Speaking on the Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz, Platt was asked about The Elite using the song and noted that he thought it was cool. He described how it’s good for the band, as young fans get to hear the song years later it first came out. Platt also joked that AEW’s usage of the song gives the band job security.

“That’s the original that they’re using,” Platt said. “I saw what video where they’re walking out in the stadium and the people are going nuts. Oh my god, that was so cool. That’s just good for the band. That’s a good promo and really introducing Kansas, even though the kids might not know who the band is or haven’t heard the song before. It really is initiating young people to that music. So that’s all good. We call that job security [laughs].”

Platt went on to note that the band’s manager JR Reese is a huge wrestling fan.

The Elite recently defeated Death Triangle in the finals of a best-of-seven series to win the AEW World Trios Championship.
