The Miz Comments On Stephanie McMahon’s Resignation, Says She Greenlit ‘The Dirt Sheet’

The Miz credits Stephanie McMahon for giving him and John Morrison the freedom to do “The Dirt Sheet.”

Miz is one of the longest-tenured members of the WWE roster, as he has been with the company since he competed on Tough Enough and landed a spot in developmental. He debuted on the main roster in 2006, and he has remained a prominent member of the roster ever since. The Miz is the first two-time Grand Slam Champion in WWE history. He worked with Stephanie for many years, and she announced her resignation on January 10, just a few days after Vince McMahon returned to the company.

In an interview with TMZ, The Miz was asked to share his thoughts on Stephanie’s departure. He noted that she was always someone he could go talk to, and he also recalled how she greenlit his pitch for “The Dirt Sheet” with John Morrison earlier in his career.

“For me, she has always been one of the people that you can go to to talk to. I remember when she was head of creative when I first got to WWE, I ran an idea by her. It was called ‘The Dirt Sheet’, it was before YouTube was really a cool thing. It was a show that me and my tag team partner really wanted to do, and we couldn’t get it going. So we went to Stephanie, I pitched her the idea, and she said, ‘We’re gonna do it.’

“[She] literally gave us the freedom to do it, and it created one of the models of what WWE’s YouTube channel is today. So it started the whole YouTube. That one thing turned it into one of the biggest YouTube channels that WWE has. John Morrison and myself started The Dirt Sheet, which was basically the first show on YouTube for WWE. So she was the reason behind all that happening.”

The Miz also credited Stephanie for her philanthropic work, such as the Connor’s Cure charity.
