WWE United States Champion Austin Theory successfully defended his title inside of the Elimination Chamber over the weekend and was feeling on top of the world during the post-show press conference.
The champ was so confident that he was practically begging someone worthy to step up and challenge him for his championship on WWE RAW this week. Theory said, “If there is someone that maybe thinks they can at least get to my level, then sure, maybe they can face me for my United States Championship on Monday.”
The very next person to come out for the press conference was Edge, who ended his portion of the presser by answering the call. He said, “We’re in Ottawa Monday. I haven’t wrestled there in probably 17 or 18 years. I haven’t had gold in a while. I mean, I retired as World Heavyweight Champion. He was a Cena fan so he’s clearly stupid. Mind you, that being said, I respect Cena because he has work ethic, which is something that I don’t know Austin Theory has. Maybe we prove that Monday when I accept his US open challenge.”
